Stuff from April

I love how Blake crosses his feet like this. Not quite Indian-style, but always one foot over the other. =)

We joined our MOPS friends and kids for a day at the park last weekend. They had this baby pool set up with tons of balls....PERFECT for the little munchkins. Of course Blake just tried to eat them.

Last week my department took our freshman Biology majors on a field trip for part of their Plant Diversity course and Microbiology course. They do this every year, but this was my first time to join them so I decided to watch and listen carefully, and take lots of pictures. I LOVE the bluebonnets!!! They were EVERYWHERE. Along with the Indian Paintbrushes (the orange ones). Just beautiful. I actually did a little flower collection along with the students, just for fun. They were jealous that I got to pick them based on "the pretty ones" instead of their taxonomy guidelines. =)

We found a snake! A tiny one, but still....

Walking over the edge of the lake's dam to get to the other side. Very slippery! Not very high, but scared me to death.

After lunch we took the students to climb some boulders down the road. They were like little kids on a playground. They loved it.

On Friday, we inaugurated our new university president, Dr. Bill Ellis, who is actually a former OBU professor that Dalton had! Dr. Ellis's wife, Diana Ellis, was a music professor at OBU and worked with the Fuller's (my chior teachers from the OBU Singers group)....so, I was SO excited that the Fullers came into town for the inauguration. Dr. Fuller served as the representative for OBU, which meant that we got to walk in together. Such a cool thing!

And finally, this is just evidence that I can actually grow something. It may not look like much, but its a big deal that there is something green coming from these plants!!! Yeah!!! =)

Here is a brief clip of Blake first learning to walk a couple of weeks ago. =) He waited as long as he could to start trying....now, he's all about it! He still prefers to crawl when he's in a hurry, but its fun to watch him teeter around.
