This is a random post that has nothing to do with Blake, but everything to do with salsa. We are HUGE salsa/chips lovers in our house, and we've made a recent discovery that was significant enough to share to the world!! =)
We love to eat chips and salsa at our local Mexican restaurants, and we love the smooth consistency, not the chunky stuff. However, when I try to buy salsa at the grocery store, they're ALL chunky. Apparently chunky is better, but we don't like chunky! Then one day, I had a brilliant idea (this was last week). I bought our favorite salsa (which we usually eat then throw away 1/3 of it due to the chunks at the bottom of the jar). Then I took it home, poured it in my blender, blended it up, then poured it back into the original jar, and TA-DA!!!! My husband thinks I'm a genius. And he tells me this everyday as he pulls out the salsa jar and bag of chips. =) I believe his exact words were, "this may have been the best idea you've ever had, seriously." I won't take that in a negative way, but as a compliment! So, if you're like me and prefer smooth salsa, give it a try!!! You'll no longer have to throw away uneaten salsa and you'll feel like you're at a restaurant! (this now sounds like an ad for salsa...sorry.)
The end.

Random, but my sister makes this 2x per week and every time I make it, people comment. If you just keep these ingredients on hand, you will never be without runny salsa!! 2 cans, 4 seasonings... if you love it, you can buy the huge containers of seasonings.
ReplyDelete1 lg can whole tomatoes
1 can chopped green chillies
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cilantro
Throw it in the blender, DONE.
Girl, your sister is brilliant!!! Thanks for sharing! =) I am DEFINITELY trying this recipe. Looks super easy. Is it dried or fresh cilantro?
