I've been encouraged by reading a friend's blog to write a little more instead of JUST doing pictures...so, since I don't have pictures yet from this weekend (of Blake with his Aunt Cate), I thought I'd do an update on his 2 month stats and shots experience today. Dalton and I guessed his weight to be around 9 or 10 pounds, and we were dead on--9.5! He's in the 10th percentile for his weight. His height is I think 20 or 20 1/2 inches long, which is in the 5th percentile. The doctor said he is doing just fine, especially since he started out at 4 1/2 pounds. He wasn't too concerned about his height and said we'd come back again at 4 months for another check-up. I hope that Blake continues to grow big and strong, even if its at his own pace.
The second part of our visit was to get his 2-month shots. He got them in his upper thighs, poor guy. Not a happy camper. I took this WAY better than I did the heel prick they did at 2 weeks. Oh my word--he was totally asleep, then they stuck a sharp object in his heel to draw blood, and he instantly shrilled. I felt so bad for him. Within about 2 minutes, I was balling and Blake had already fallen back asleep. I couldn't even put him back in his carseat for the ride home (about 2 miles away)--I just looked at Dalton and said, "I'm going to hold him." He didn't even argue with me--just looked at my face and said, "O.K." But today the poor guy hurts from the stinkin' shots! Its so sad...he'll be asleep and slightly wake up, feel the pain in his legs and just start crying. Hopefully the baby tylenol will help him sleep better.
