Blake is here!!!

At just over 37 weeks, Blake decided to make an early arrival. =) My water broke on Friday, but I didn't even know it because it was so gradual throughout the day. I didn't have contractions until Sunday. We took our time going to the hospital, waiting until they were closer to 5 minutes apart. We just thought it would be a practice-run and they'd probably send us right home and say wait a little longer--but Blake had other plans! After each contraction, his heart rate would drop just a little, enough to worry the doctors and ultimately decide to do a C-section. He was born at 11:33pm that night, measuring 18.5 inches long and weighing 4 lbs 6 ozs. We were shocked!! I've been measuring normal all through the pregnancy so we had no indication he would be so tiny. He had no problems once we was born--didn't even need oxygen support. He's just a long and skinny little guy and needs some time to grow big and strong (he already has a pretty tight grip). =)

This family pic was taken on Saturday, the day before he was born (we had no clue). Here are some pictures from our big adventure, and bringing him home today.

Dalton introduces Blake to his grandparents on the way to the nursery, then watches closely as the nurse checks him out. Blake immediately calmed down when he heard Dalton's voice. =)

Here we are taking him home from the hospital! And below, Dakota finally gets to meet Blake. She was very curious about all the noises and smells coming from the little guy, but by tonight she just follows around whoever is holding him and sleeps at their feet. =)
